Tim Brodhead brings years of leadership experience in the foundation and non-profit sector. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors for Canadians for a New Partnership, an organization dedicated to creating a new partnership between First Peoples and all Canadians so that together we can build the strong economy and value-based society that will benefit this and future generations. He was the past-Interim President and CEO of the Trudeau Foundation, which supports outstanding individuals who make meaningful contributions to critical public issues. From 1995 to 2011, Tim was President and CEO of The J.W. McConnell Family Foundation based in Montreal. The mission of the Foundation is to create a more resilient society by enhancing inclusion, sustainability, and social innovation.
In a voluntary capacity, Tim has served on many boards including the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), Centraide/United Way of Montreal, Concordia University, the Foundation du Grand Montréal, Sauvé Scholars Foundation, and Engineers Without Borders. He is a past chair of Philanthropic Foundations Canada, the national organization of Canadian independent foundations, and currently chairs the ETC Group, which addresses the social impact of new technologies. He is also involved in the work of Social Innovation Generation (SiG), a collaborative initiative to support social innovation in Canada and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo.
