ARCHV RMX: A Night Curated by This is Worldtown
March 15 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm$5
We will be introducing our six Behind the Dust artists and talking about how WoC are remixing the Archive for the future.
In digital spaces, women of colour are taking charge of creating new representations and documenting personal histories that resonate across diasporic experiences. Join This is Worldtown as we curate a night in an archive Remix. Come and meet six visual storytellers from our Behind the Dust Series quietly revolutionizing how women of colour are portrayed in our culture. What does it mean to visiblize these experiences? How are we learning from the past and creating for the future?
This is Worldtown’s Founder and Creative Director, Sana A. Malik, will be in conversation with Sharine Taylor, journalist, academic and Founder of Bashy Magazine, to delve deeper into the role of Women of Colour content and media creators reclaiming narratives about diaspora communities.
Come and be part of the archive :: bring a personal item or symbol that you can add to our project. Answer questions that bring new perspectives to archive projects.
++ Featuring live performance by Obuxum
