Meet our team

Sadia Zaman, CEO

Sadia brings a wealth of arts, media, and not-for-profit experience to her role as CEO, Inspirit Foundation.

Before joining Inspirit, Sadia was Managing Director, ROM Canada at the Royal Ontario Museum where she focused on digital content and Indigenous narratives. Before the ROM, Sadia commissioned documentary and current affairs projects from across the country as Director, Original Program Development, CBC News and Centres. She also led Women in Film and Television-Toronto (WIFT-T), a not-for-profit that supports the training and advancement of women in the screen-based industry.

Sadia began her career as a journalist, creating hundreds of hours of original, critically acclaimed current affairs and documentary content for Vision TV, CBC and TVO. She has won dozens of awards for her journalism, and has been honoured for her leadership. She sits on many juries and advisory committees and is often asked to speak about media, inclusion, gender and leadership issues.

Jory Cohen, Director of Finance and Impact Investment

Jory is the Director of Finance and Impact Investment at Inspirit Foundation. Since graduating from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University as the Valedictorian of his class, Jory quickly garnered a reputation as a leader in the impact investing field.

Before joining Inspirit, Jory was the Managing Director of Youth Social Innovation Capital Fund, an impact investing fund supporting young entrepreneurs. He also co-founded a business in East Africa based on the fair-market-value sales of honey.

Most recently, Jory played an integral role in launching Inspirit’s 100% impact portfolio and continues to lead the rollout of that strategy while managing all aspects of the finance department. Jory is often called upon to share his expertise within the sector and academic institutions. He also co-authored a children’s book (which was rejected by every publisher).

Chris Lee, Director of Programming

As Director of Programming, Chris plays an integral role in developing Inspirit Foundation’s grantmaking and evaluation strategies, bringing to the role expertise in program design, stakeholder relationship building, and program evaluation.

Chris has spent much of his career working on social justice and equity issues in the arts, media, disability, education, and youth sectors in BC and Ontario. His range of experience includes frontline social service work, organizational and systems change facilitation, and youth-driven, cross-cultural community development. Prior to Inspirit, Chris held leadership roles in multiple social service and non-profit organizations.

He holds a B.A. (Hons) in Philosophy and German Literature from the University of King’s College and a M.Ed. from the University of British Columbia where his studies focused on social policy and the citizenship of people with disabilities. Chris was a 2022-2023 Fellow with the Just Economy Institute and has volunteered on numerous boards, including First Unitarian Congregation of Toronto, Grassroots Grantmakers, and Youngplace.

Hannah Nguyen, Manager of Administration and Special Projects

Hannah brings a wealth of expertise and lived experience to her role as Inspirit’s Manager, Administration and Special Projects. She is the daughter of Vietnamese refugees, and was born and raised in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia. She graduated with a B.A. in writing and psychology from Deakin University, and also completed a Graduate Diploma in design at RMIT University. After traveling Europe and working and living abroad in the UK, she decided to move to Canada and has been a resident since 2015.

Hannah has worked across a number of different sectors including publishing, design, education, consulting and finance. She has extensive experience supporting senior management teams, CEOs and directors, as well as experience in stakeholder liaising, office administration and event organizing.

In her spare time, she continues to enjoy travelling, dabbling in photography and volunteering her skills for various organizations and events such as DesignTO Festival and OpenIDEO Toronto Chapter.

Jozef Agtarap, Communications and Outreach Manager

Jozef Agtarap is the Communications and Outreach Manager at Inspirit Foundation. Dedicating his career to social change, Jozef has worked in several areas across the non-profit sector such as child and youth services, humanitarian aid, and international development. His range of expertise includes content creation and building brand awareness, as well as communications strategy and management.

A—self-proclaimed—writer of words and liker of people, Jozef is passionate about using stories and conversations to connect individuals within the greater community.

In addition to advocating for youth and racialized voices, Jozef champions the arts and culture as Vice-President of  Fiesta Filipina Dance Troupe of Canada and Chair of the Philippine Pavilion at Carabram. A big basketball fan, he may or may not have broken down weeping in the streets of Toronto, following the Raptors’ 2019 NBA championship.

Ana Sofía Hibon, Program Manager

Based in Tiohtià:ke (Montréal), Ana Sofía Hibon brings experience from the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors and a passion for the intersection of storytelling and social change.

Ana Sofía was previously a Program Officer at the McConnell Foundation, where she developed granting and capacity building opportunities for community organizations who are tackling some of Canada’s greatest challenges: climate action, reconciliation and community wellbeing. She also co-led the implementation of McConnell’s public interest journalism strategy.

Ana Sofía’s experience spans diverse regions—including Canada, Latin America and East Africa—and topics. In the past, she advocated for the rights of migrants at the Mexico-Guatemala border, researched Montreal’s newcomer resettlement system, and engaged in poverty reduction initiatives in her home country of Peru. She also served on the board of Say Ça! Montréal, a circle of support for newcomer and refugee youth. Ana Sofía holds a B.A in International Development with a double minor in Communication Studies and Management from McGill University.
