Based in Tiohtià:ke (Montréal), Ana Sofía Hibon brings experience from the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors and a passion for the intersection of storytelling and social change.

Ana Sofía was previously a Program Officer at the McConnell Foundation, where she developed granting and capacity building opportunities for community organizations who are tackling some of Canada’s greatest challenges: climate action, reconciliation and community wellbeing. She also co-led the implementation of McConnell’s public interest journalism strategy.

Ana Sofía’s experience spans diverse regions—including CanadaLatin America and East Africa—and topicsIn the past, she advocated for the rights of migrants at the Mexico-Guatemala border, researched Montreal’s newcomer resettlement system, and engaged in poverty reduction initiatives in her home country of Peru. She also served on the board of Say Ça! Montréal, a circle of support for newcomer and refugee youth.

Ana Sofía holds a B.A in International Development with a double minor in Communication Studies and Management from McGill University.
