We collaborate with partners on strategic projects and programs that help create infrastructure required to build narrative power.
In addition to grants, we leverage our funding through mission-aligned special initiatives.
These initiatives are foundation-led or developed in partnership with other institutions. Our two current major initiatives are the Narrative Change Lab, and our work in the Canadian journalism ecosystem.
Narrative Change Lab
In 2021, we launched the Narrative Change Lab, a pilot that focuses on the development of narrative infrastructure and strategies by historically underserved communities. This ongoing initiative is titled Reimagining Muslim Narratives in Pop Culture.
Journalism
Since 2019, Inspirit has actively funded journalism with the goal of advancing greater narrative power for communities whom Canadian media have historically underrepresented or misrepresented. Our recent efforts also include field-building activities to help grow philanthropic support for journalism in Canada.
