Four Inspirit Foundation Directors Complete Board Terms

TORONTO, July 24, 2024 — Inspirit Foundation thanks the following outgoing board members for their many years of dedicated service, their passion, and their commitment to Inspirit’s mission and vision: Alexandra McCann, Caro Loutfi, Mohamed Huque, and Wendell Nii Laryea Adjetey.  

Since joining the board in 2016, Alexandra McCann played a crucial role in Inspirit’s road to a 100% impact portfolio, having served as Board Treasurer, as well as Chair of the Finance & Investment Committee. Alexandra is the Executive Director of ONSIDE, a non-profit that empowers rural and underrepresented groups in Nova Scotia through inclusive innovation-driven entrepreneurship. 

Caro Loutfi joined the board as a youth member in 2015 and went on to become Chair of the Programming Committee, overseeing several transitions. Caro is an Executive and Strategy consultant for non-profits, and previously was the Executive Director of Apathy is Boring and Associate Director at Human Rights Watch in London. 

Mohamed Huque joined the Inspirit board in 2017 and served as a key member of the Programming Committee, providing strategic and granting guidance to ensure community voices were represented. Mohamed is Director, Community Impact at Toronto Foundation where he mobilizes the organization’s vast philanthropic resources towards equity-driven priorities. 

Wendell Nii Laryea Adjetey provided critical guidance and leadership as a member of the Governance and HR Committee. Since 2017, he served the organization through his keen analysis and commitment to equity. Wendell is an Associate Professor and William Dawson Chair at McGill University. 

The Inspirit Foundation Board of Directors is a governance board. Members bring skills, experiences, and understanding of different contexts to help guide the organization’s work. Inspirit’s commitment to equity includes diversity in reflection, geography, skill sets, and lived experiences.
