Canadian Journalists of Colour is a community of Indigenous, Black and People of Colour media workers across Canada. CJOC offers a supportive environment for journalists of colour to engage and discuss the journalism industry. This grant supported the RISE Conference.

Founded in 1996, Canadian Association of Black Journalists (CABJ) strives to advance the work of Black journalists and media professionals in Canada. This grant supported a French online webinar.

IndigiNews

IndigiNews aims to provide digital journalism driven by Indigenous communities’ needs, while contributing to the long-term sustainability of independent Indigenous-centred media. This grant supported the hiring of an Indigenous editor position.

La Converse

La Converse is a digital media outlet serving underrepresented communities in Québec. Launched as a month-long pop-up newsletter to fill an urgent need for reporting during the COVID-19 pandemic, it quickly engaged audiences and had made measurable impact across underserved communities.
