Muslim International Film Festival

The Muslim International Film Festival is a non-profit organization that is committed to providing a platform for both current and aspiring filmmakers, creative storytellers, videographers, designers, creatives and media junkies to portray Muslim Excellence on the big screen. This grant supported the 2024 Film Festival.

Content Canada

Launched in 2018, Content Canada brings the media industry together to learn, inspire, network and get business done in Toronto during the Toronto International Film Festival.

Mosquers

The Mosquers was started in 2006 as a short-film festival to provide a platform for local films by Muslim filmmakers in Edmonton. It has emerged as a key organization in Canada’s Muslim creative sector over the past decade. This grant supported the 2024 Opening Credits event.

Press Forward

Press Forward is dedicated to ensuring people in Canada have strong, independent and community-focused journalism. They unify, elevate and advocate for independent media organizations and work to strengthen innovation, inclusivity and diversity in media across the country. This grant supports the Future of Independent Media Summit.

Racial Equity Screen Office

Racial Equity Screen Office is a Vancouver-based organization that supports the mentorship, training, funding, production, and distribution of content by racialized Canadian filmmakers with diverse stories. This grant supported the East by Northwest Summit.

Spotlight: Child Welfare

Spotlight: Child Welfare is a collaborative journalism project that aims to change dominant narratives around the child welfare system. Journalists build capacity to cover stories in trauma-informed, community-led, and evidence-based ways, through work with youth in care and other people connected to the child welfare system.

The Documentary Organization of Canada is a member-driven national organization dedicated to supporting documentary filmmaking and filmmakers.

Journalists for Human Rights

Journalists for Human Rights is a leading media development organization that trains and engages local journalists, media outlets, civil society organizations and other relevant stakeholders to strengthen and improve human rights coverage in local contexts. This grant supported the Anti-Harrasment and Threat Mitigation in Canadian Media project.

Canadian Association of Journalists

The Canadian Association of Journalists is an independent, not-for-profit organization that provides advocacy and professional development for journalists across Canada. This grant supports the Emergency Support Fund for Canadian Journalists.

Black Screen Office

The Black Screen Office is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to support the development, production and distribution of Black screen-based content around the globe. This grant supported BSO programming.
