IndigiNews: Indigenous-led Media Outlet Nominated for Three Prestigious Awards


IndigiNews, an Indigenous-led media outlet has been nominated for two Canadian Online Publishing Awards (COPAs) and the Jack Webster Award.

Reporter Kelsie Kilawna of the Okanagan team has been nominated under the categories Best Photojournalism and Best Continued News Coverage of a Story for the Canadian Online Publishing Awards (COPAs). Kelsie along with her fellow reporters Chehala Leonard, Athena Bonneau and Lindsay Sample have been nominated for the Jack Webster Award under the category Best Community Reporting for the series Sharing Indigenous News and Perspectives in the Okanagan.

The COPA’s are recognized as the premier digital publishing awards in Canada. Read more about the nominations here.
