Racial Equity Media Collective

The Racial Equity Media Collective is a national not-for-profit organization committed to remove barriers to access and increase the production, export and sustainability of BIPOC content and BIPOC-led production companies. This grant supported a study on data collection of BIPOC screen-based creators.

Canadian Journalists of Colour

Canadian Journalists of Colour is a community of Indigenous, Black and People of Colour media workers across Canada. CJOC offers a supportive environment for journalists of colour to engage and discuss the journalism industry. This grant supported an Anti-Black Racism in Journalism webinar.

ImagiNATIVE

imagiNATIVE showcases, promotes, and celebrates Canadian and international Indigenous filmmakers and media artists. imagiNATIVE is committed to a greater understanding by audiences of Indigenous peoples, cultures, and artistic expressions. This grant supported their Digital Pivot response project.

Yellowhead Institute

Yellowhead Institute is an Indigenous-led research and education centre based in the Faculty of Arts at Toronto Metropolitan University. The Institute publishes Indigenous policy perspectives, privileging Indigenous philosophy and amplifying Indigenous voices. This grant supported a call for collaboration as a response to COVID-19.

Indigenous Curatorial Collective

The Indigenous Curatorial Collective / Collectif des commissaires autochtones (ICCA) is an Indigenous run and led not-for-profit organization that aims to support and connect fellow Indigenous curators, artists, writers, academics, and professionals through various methods of gathering. This grant supported the “Curating Care” project.

Toronto Ward Museum

The Toronto Ward Museum is a community-engaged museum that facilitates the preservation and sharing of personal stories of migrants in Toronto’s history. This grant supported the “Block by Block” project.

Women in View

Women in View is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to strengthening gender representation and diversity in Canadian media both on screen and behind the scenes. This grant supported the annual Women in View Report.

Noor Cultural Centre

The Noor Cultural Centre aims to be a centre for Islamic practice and learning, and celebration of Islamic culture, while respecting the diversity in peoples and religions as directed by the Qur’an. This grant supported the “Islamophobia Is” video project.
