Spotlight: Child Welfare is a collaborative journalism project that aims to change dominant narratives around the child welfare system. Journalists build capacity to cover stories in trauma-informed, community-led, and evidence-based ways, through work with youth in care and other people connected to the child welfare system.

This grant supported operational funding, as well as research for a Best Practices Guide and Decision Maker Report.

The Tyee

The Tyee is an independent, online news magazine from British Columbia devoted to fact-driven stories, reporting and analysis that informs and enlivens our democratic conversation. This grant supported Spotlight: Child Welfare, a collaborative journalism project that brings together journalists and people with lived experience of the so-called “child welfare” system.

Columbia Institute & Shareholder Association of Research and Education

A joint project between Columbia Institute and SHARE, the Reconciliation and Responsible Investment project provides workshops, webinars, and conferences for Indigenous trust officers and mainstream institutional investors, coordinates a leadership cohort of trust officers, and develops guidance, policy and metrics for investors on reconciliation objectives.
