Inspirit Foundation Welcomes New CEO: Sadia Zaman

Newsletters

Inspirit Foundation’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the organization’s new CEO, Sadia Zaman.

Sadia is an experienced leader in media and culture-focused organizations, as well as nonprofits; she has led successful teams at institutions including CBC, Women in Film and Television, and most recently the Royal Ontario Museum. Her passion for inclusion and social change developed early in her career at Vision TV, where she created award-winning content amplifying important stories that are overlooked by mainstream media.

Sadia’s work has been nominated for five Gemini awards. Her leadership has been recognized by Women Who Inspire and many other organizations, and earned her a spot as a finalist for the Atkinson Fellowship in Public Policy. She is also a member of the Canadian Board Diversity Council.

“This was an extensive and rigorous national search, and we are very confident in our selection of Sadia Zaman to lead Inspirit Foundation’s work. Sadia’s bold leadership, impressive career and her expertise, particularly in fostering inclusion through media and arts, will be incredible assets to Inspirit’s Board and Staff,” said Barbara Hall, Board Chair.

Sadia will join Inspirit halfway through its current strategic plan, which will conclude in early 2021. It focuses on two priority areas: advancing reconciliation and addressing Islamophobia. Her leadership will be critical in guiding the organization in developing its next strategic plan.

Sadia will begin her role as Inspirit Foundation’s CEO in late August. We look forward to welcoming her.
