Real News Foundation

This grant supported an event by the Canadian Independent Media Fund, a collective of independent media creators, journalists, and supporters dedicated to building a sustainable future for independent media in Canada.

Toronto Metropolitan University

This grant supported a panel hosted in Toronto that brought together journalists and the general public to engage in critical conversations about storytelling, press freedom and the role of journalism in responding to critical global and national events.

aabaakwad

aabaakwad is an Indigenous Arts Collective devoted to the dissemination, exhibition, promotion and development of International Indigenous arts. They host yearly gatherings of International Indigenous artists, curators and writers in different countries. This grant supported the 2024 annual gathering, hosted in partnership with the University of Toronto.

Muslim International Film Festival

The Muslim International Film Festival is a non-profit organization that is committed to providing a platform for both current and aspiring filmmakers, creative storytellers, videographers, designers, creatives and media junkies to portray Muslim Excellence on the big screen. This grant supported the 2024 Film Festival.

Content Canada

Launched in 2018, Content Canada brings the media industry together to learn, inspire, network and get business done in Toronto during the Toronto International Film Festival.

Mosquers

The Mosquers was started in 2006 as a short-film festival to provide a platform for local films by Muslim filmmakers in Edmonton. It has emerged as a key organization in Canada’s Muslim creative sector over the past decade. This grant supported the 2024 Opening Credits event.
